I have a BT synergy 3105 cordless phone set up . One base with two handsets. works fine. I have recently found a spare Philips Onis handset thatI used years ago and would like to use this in addition to the BT handsets. Is this possible? Both systems are GAP compatible but I have no manuals. Does anyone know hw I could register the Philips handset to the BT base.? ( Bt manual says it will connect up to 5 handsets.)
Thanks in anticipation

Does the Philips have a text based menu?
See if you can find a register option in the menu....
Hold down the 'page' button on your BT base for 10 seconds or so and get the Phillips to search for base via registration menu - enter PIN 0000 (default).... and you're done... maybe

Thanks very much for your reply. Unfortunately I have tried that. The Philips handset searches for the base but registration fails.

I have just managed to register an old Philips Kala handset to a new BT 3100 base station. Maybe the Onis is similar.
Try unregistering the handset first. However I think you need the original base station to be plugged in. You will also need the PIN which is underneath the base unit.
I found a manual for the Kala on the Philips web site but the instructions aren't that clear.

    Hi,
I bought a BT Studio 4500 last October. I tried to register my old phone (Studio 3500), but it failed to register.
I have now bought a Studio 4100 to use as a second handset, but again it failed to register.
I have followed the registering instructions in the user guide several times, but each time it displays 'searching',
followed by the long beep, but it then displays 'handset'
    Please help.

That suggests that, although you've done the right thing with the handset and it's searching for a base station to connect with, you haven't done what's necessary with the base station (i.e. you haven't set the base station to send its 'find me' signal for 90 seconds or whatever is the time period for the BT Studio 4500).

    Hi,
    Re-my message No. 5
After 2 e-mails and 3 phone calls to BT, each one differing in method and none agreeing with the handbook, I finally resolved the problem. For other's benefit the method is:
On new handset via menu go to registration, pin
    (enter 0000), confirm.
Take both handsets off their base (vital).
Press and hold 'FIND' on original base until long bleep followed by 'handset 2' displays on new handset.
    Cheers.
